NACOC declares 48-year-old Frank Danquah wanted over suspected narcotics offences

NACOC is seeking assistance from members of the public to establish Frank Danquah’s whereabouts and facilitate efforts to locate him. According to the notice, anyone who has information that could help the Commission trace Frank Danquah is encouraged to come forward. NACOC has provided its toll-free number, 0800 307 307, for members of the public who may have information relevant to the search. The Commission, however, did not provide details of the particular offence or offences allegedly involving Danquah. It also did not state whether he is being sought in relation to a specific ongoing investigation or case. The latest declaration comes at a time when law enforcement agencies are facing increased attention over the detection and investigation of suspected international drug trafficking activities involving Ghana. One of the major cases currently under investigation concerns a large consignment of suspected cocaine allegedly transported from Ghana to France. French authorities intercepted approximately 3.9 tonnes of the suspected narcotic at Dunkirk earlier in September, prompting investigations into how the shipment was processed and exported. Six individuals have since been remanded in connection with the case. Prosecutors have claimed that four containers linked to the shipment went through scanning procedures at the Tema Port but were subsequently cleared for export, despite what investigators say were abnormalities visible in the scan images. The circumstances surrounding the shipment have raised questions about the procedures used to detect and prevent the movement of narcotics through Ghana’s ports. However, NACOC has not stated that Frank Danquah is among the persons being investigated or prosecuted in connection with the suspected cocaine shipment to France.
