A stampede at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi has reportedly left at least three people injured during the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) National Delegates Conference, according to a myjoyonline.com report.
According to the report, the affected individuals were rushed to the Kumasi South Hospital for medical attention, while others who sustained minor injuries were treated at temporary medical points set up within the conference grounds.
One of the injured persons is said to have suffered a fracture after some individuals attempted to force their way through the congested crowd.

The incident prompted police personnel stationed at the venue to intensify crowd-control measures to prevent further congestion and ensure the safety of delegates and supporters.
The large gathering also posed challenges for emergency responders, with personnel from the Ghana National Ambulance Service reportedly facing difficulties navigating through the crowd to reach and evacuate those who had been injured.
