Savannah Region: Man accused of stealing shea nuts lynched by mob in Daboya, two arrested

The Savannah Regional Police Command has arrested two persons in connection with the alleged mob lynching of a young man at Daboya in the North Gonja District. The victim, identified only as Yibonwura, was allegedly attacked and severely assaulted after he was accused of stealing shea nuts. He died from injuries sustained during the attack. In a statement dated August 26, 2026, the Savannah Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) David K. Amoako, said two suspects — Adjei Abdulai, 25, a carpenter, and Issah Mahama, 22, a student — had been arrested and were assisting with investigations.
