Petrol may hit GH¢16.26, diesel GH¢19.07 in next pricing window – COPEC

<p>Prices of petrol and diesel are expected to increase from Wednesday, September 16, 2026, following a sharp rise in international crude oil and refined petroleum product prices, the Chamber of Petroleum Consumers (COPEC) has projected.</p> <p>COPEC expects petrol to rise by 4.24 percent to about GH¢16.26 per litre, while diesel could increase by 10.23 percent to approximately GH¢19.07 per litre during the second pricing window of September.</p> <p>Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) is also projected to record an increase, with COPEC estimating a price of about GH¢15.32 per kilogramme.</p> <p>In its pricing projection dated September 13, 2026, COPEC said international crude oil prices rose from US$89.30 to US$103.07 per barrel during the period under review.</p> <p>The increase in global oil prices came despite a marginal appreciation of the Ghana cedi against the US dollar.</p> <p>According to COPEC, the average interbank exchange rate improved from GH¢11.5166 to GH¢11.4830 per US$1, representing a marginal 0.29 per cent appreciation of the cedi.</p> <p><em>Source: GhanaWeb</em></p>
