Koku Anyidoho takes a swipe at Nii Lante Vanderpuye over NDC Chairmanship bid Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho Former National Democratic Congress (NDC) Deputy General Secretary Koku Anyidoho has launched a verbal attack on former Sports Minister Nii Lante Vanderpuye over his reported ambition to contest for the party’s national chairmanship position. In a strongly worded post on X, Anyidoho dismissed Vanderpuye’s ambition, describing it as a “senseless ambition” and predicting that he would not win the race. Anyidoho also alleged that Vanderpuye’s bid was being supported by individuals he referred to as “Church Street masters” and called on them to withdraw their backing. “Forget this senseless ambition of yours supported by Church Street. You will NOT win and you are wasting your time,” Anyidoho wrote in a post directly addressed to Vanderpuye. He continued with a warning, stating: “Don’t force me to say what I don’t want to say. Tell your Church Street masters to back off before some of us say what we don’t want to say.” The post, which was confrontational in tone, adds to the exchanges surrounding the reported chairmanship ambition and highlights the tensions emerging over the party’s internal political contest. Anyidoho’s remarks suggest strong opposition to Vanderpuye’s bid, although the former deputy general secretary did not elaborate in the post on the specific issues underlying his objections. Vanderpuye’s response to the comments was not included in the available information. The NDC’s national chairmanship is a key leadership position within the party, with the holder playing a significant role in its organisational direction.
