‘I have produced over 1,000 MPs, but I haven’t even sat in their cars before' - John Boadu
John Boadu is National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party
The National Charmian of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has said he has produced more than 1,000 Members of Parliament in the party.
According to him, his efforts were not motivated by personal gains but by his desire to see the party win elections.
“I have produced over 1,000 MPs, and I have not even sat in any of their cars before. What personal gains have I got? None,” he said in an interview on Lawson TV monitored by GhanaWeb on October 20, 2026.

According to him, some of the MPs he had helped politically even later turned against him.
“Sometimes, if you help them, they turn around and vote against you because they say you have become powerful", he stated.
He said his greatest reward was seeing the NPP win elections, rather than benefiting personally from the success of people he had supported.
Boadu also disputed claims that he had imposed parliamentary candidates on the party, arguing that some of the MPs described as imposed candidates had "organised against him".
He said that as National Chairman, he wanted to restore the party’s winning machinery and rebuild its support base.
“I HAVE PRODUCED OVER 1,000 MPs, BUT I HAVEN’T EVEN SAT IN ANY OF THEIR CARS.”
NPP National Chairman John Boadu makes a bold statement about his contribution to the party and his relationship with Members of Parliament. What message is he sending?
