The Minister of State for Public Sector Reforms, Lydia Lamisi Akanvariba, said the reforms are focused on improving institutional performance and addressing inefficiencies within the public sector. She made the remarks at the 10th edition of Burkina Faso’s Human Resource Café 2026 held in Accra. According to her, the Public Sector Reform Secretariat remains committed to transforming public institutions’ operations and ensuring they deliver services more effectively. She said the reform agenda is centred on reducing inefficiencies, strengthening transparency and accountability, promoting professionalism and developing human capital. The government also intends to improve institutional performance and leverage digital technologies to enhance public service delivery. “The Public Sector Reform Secretariat, with its mandate to provide initiation, strategic guidance, and coordination for public sector reforms, remains committed to transforming the way public institutions operate and deliver services,” she said. Akanvariba added that the objectives are being pursued through the implementation of the National Public Sector Reform Strategy II, which is expected to provide a framework for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of public institutions.
