Cocaine Bust: MP Assuafuah alleges suspect Musah Attah is part of President, Veep’s security detail

A picture of the supposed suspect with a green mark above his head, as shared by the NPP MP The Member of Parliament for Old Tafo, Vincent Ekow Assuafuah, has alleged that one of the four suspects initially arrested over the $260 million worth of cocaine seized in France from a shipment from Ghana. According to him, the suspect named Musah Atta is a security personnel who has been detailed to both President John Dramani Mahama and his Vice President, Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang. The MP, who shared pics of the supposed pictures of suspects in close proximity to the President and Vice President, questioned how this could happen. “US$261.45 million cocaine bust and one accused, Musah Atta, is reportedly part of the security detail of both the President and Vice President. “How does a presidential security operative become linked to a case of this magnitude? Who granted the access, and who was watching the watchers?” he added. In pictures the MP shared, he singled out a man he claims to be Musah Atta, who was part of the security detail of the president at his swearing-in on January 7, 2025. Another picture showed a man who looks like the same person protecting the vice president. They were arraigned before the High Court in Accra on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, and have been remanded to reappear on October 13, 2026.
