In viral footage circulating online, and sighted by GhanaWeb on October 11, 2026, Klottey was seen arriving in Kasoa, flanked by supporters waving flags and security personnel, to mark the end of his grueling journey. The activist undertook the multi-week walk to draw urgent attention to environmental degradation, illegal mining (galamsey), and toxic contamination threatening river systems and drinking water sources across West Africa. Throughout his trek from the Burkinabe border through several Ghanaian towns, King Klottey engaged local residents and climate conscious youth on the imperative need to protect aquatic ecosystems and hold environmental polluters accountable. Illegal small-scale mining (galamsey) remains one of Ghana's most pressing socio-ecological challenges, leading to widespread heavy metal pollution in key river basins such as the Pra, Ankobra, Birim, and Densu.
