'Biggs' and His Many Aliases: NACOC reveals alleged drug network leader

The Deputy Director-General in charge of Enforcement, Control and Elimination at the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC), Alexander Twum-Barimah, has disclosed that the Commission has identified an individual known as Biggs as the alleged leader of a drug trafficking network in Ghana. Speaking in a video shared by TV3 on X, Twum-Barimah said Biggs uses multiple aliases, which NACOC has evidence to show all belong to the same person. Ntim Fordjour details 8 major drug busts linked to Ghana since April 2025 “I think the one that we may say was leading most of these people was Biggs. He had multiple names, and if I'm to call his name, I'm going to call all these names. And we have evidence for all these multiple names, so we can't say this one is his actual name. “There are things that we've picked that establish that he has this as his name, he has that as his name. So, if I'm to mention one, it means I'm attributing it to only one, but all these other ones that we have, there is evidence to that effect, so, we can't say this is his actual name,” he disclosed. When asked whether NACOC’s investigations had identified any high-profile or senior government official as being involved in the network, Twum-Barimah said he had no knowledge of any such official. “…We are still investigating the case. So far as I'm concerned, as I'm sitting here… I have not gotten to know of any supposed government official [involved in the drug network]. There is none,” he added. Nobody exports tonnes of drugs unless they expect it to go through – Kofi Bentil Twum-Barimah added that the case is still under investigation and that the said individual was taken to court and has been remanded.
