2027 AFCON: GFA, SPORTS MINISTRY CONSIDER INTERIM BLACK STARS TECHNICAL TEAM FOR NOVEMBER QUALIFIERS
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the Ministry of Sports and Recreation are considering a three-member interim technical team to manage the Black Stars’ November African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers while the search for a substantive head coach continues.

Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Björkegren has been proposed to lead the team, with Ibrahim Tanko and Black Stars assistant coach Godwin Attram as his assistants.
The Black Stars head coach search committee made the recommendation to allow more time to review applications and complete the recruitment process.
The GFA and the Sports Minister are currently engaging the three coaches as they consider the proposed arrangement.
The application window for the substantive coaching position closed on October 15, paving the way for the committee to review the applications received.
The interim team is yet to receive final approval, with the GFA and the ministry expected to conclude their discussions before announcing a decision.
